About Me
I’ve spent more than 30 years building a career around helping others stay organised, supported and on track whether in business, in the community or at home. With a background in mental health nursing, community services and remote program coordination I bring calm, capable support and a practical, no-fuss approach to everything I do. My work has often involved supporting meetings, workshops and community engagement processes ensuring the practical details are handled and discussions are clearly documented. I’m comfortable working with community organisations, facilitators and project teams where clear records, respectful processes and reliable follow-up are essential. Over the years I’ve lived and worked in some truly unique and challenging places from delivering programs in First Nations communities in Far North Queensland to running a successful fishing charter business in Portugal. After more than two decades in Cooktown where we raised our two children, built our home and ran several family-run businesses we spent several years overseas growing our tourism venture. Managing a full property renovation and private sale during the global pandemic further strengthened my resilience, adaptability and problem-solving skills. We’re now back home in Australia and settled in Cairns where life is once again centred around family and community. I’ve continued to contribute to a range of voluntary roles from community associations to support services which have deepened my understanding of people, systems and the importance of showing up when it matters. With a bookkeeping qualification and decades of hands-on experience in admin, logistics and life’s behind-the-scenes details I understand how overwhelming it can be when time is short or circumstances change. The Tropical PA brings all of that experience together offering calm, practical support that helps you feel more organised, more in control and a little less burdened.
